As a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, we wanted to share some of the best podcasts out there so you can get the latest and greatest news and entertainment related to all things Eagles. There’s so many podcasts out there and we wanted to help you choose!

We narrowed it down to the top three podcasts that we listen to most frequently in season and during the offseason. We’ve listened to a LOT of podcasts and these are the ones we stick with most frequently.

You can subscribe to any of these podcasts from the many of the most popular podcast apps. If you need steps on following a podcast, check out our guide.

Read on to see the top three Eagles podcasts – created and hosted by people who live in the Philadelphia market with connections to all things Eagles.

    1) Birds With Friends (BwF)

    Philadelphia Eagles

    Show Summary

Birds with Friends is a podcast from the Athletic network that’s hosted by Eagles beat writers Bo Wulf and Zach Berman, with Athletic Podcast producer (and all-around football expert) Marissa Dunn, and sometimes special guests pop in.

    Apple Podcasts Rating: 4.8 / 5

    Host rapport

    • Bo and Zach have un-forced and genuine differing personality types that lead to engaging banter (not like the fake old Greeny and Golic schtick).
    • One of the few podcasts that make you feel like the hosts are actually friends (and they are!)
    • The guys make a point of including Marissa when the situation is called for in a natural way.
    • Fantastic long running jokes and gags without hammering you over the head with them.

    Frequency of new episodes

    • Postgame: Same day (or night if it’s late)
    • In-season and draft/free agency: Multiple episodes a week.
    • Training camp: Near daily-episodes day of post practice.
    • Offseason/dead zone: At least an episode a week.

    Podcast format

    • Audio Quality & Production: 10/10 audio quality (except for when Bo’s Wi-Fi taps out) – ie, no one sounds like they’re on speakerphone in a tunnel.  Smoothly produced – no weird pauses, ad breaks, or strange downtime.
    • Structure: The hosts clearly understand and have experience in the podcast medium, so you’ll have structure, recurring segments that drive conversation, and well thought out conversations.

    2) Bleeding Green Nation (BGN Radio)

    Show summary

Two of the more popular Eagles beat writers on Twitter bring Brandon Lee Gowton (@BrandonGowton) of Bleeding Green Nation and Jimmy Kempski (@JimmyKempski) of Philly Voice take you through all things Eagles.

    Apple Podcasts Rating: 4.8 / 5

    Host rapport

    • Brandon and Jimmy are long-time friends who connected when both were posting on the SB nation site – Bleeding Green Nation.
    • The familiarity leads to natural conversation and a comfortable rapport so they can call each other out in a manner that’s fun. Neither are afraid to admit when they’re wrong.
    • Good recurring segments such as handing out their daily Jalen Hurts stock report, MVPs, LVPs, and play of the day awards.

    Frequency of new episodes

    • Postgame: Same week (it may take a few days for them to get up as Jimmy is a prolific writer more than a podcaster)
    • In-season and draft/free agency: One episode a week.
    • Training camp: Near daily-episodes day of post practice.
    • Offseason/dead zone: At least an episode a week.

    Podcast format

    • Audio Quality & Production: 9/10 – Brandon and Jimmy have a good audio setup. The show is big enough to have producers but may now be as sleek as some other shows as a lot of the SB Nation podcasts are still growing.
    • Structure: BLG and Jimmy keep things moving, have segments you can track over specific parts of the season (like training camp stock up / down reports), and don’t meander. It can feel a little freeform at times (not a bad thing).

    3) Go Birds

    Show summary

James Seltzer and Eliot Shorr-Parks (known as ESP) react to all the happenings with the Eagles. Both guys work for the popular 94.1WIP Philadelphia radio station, and the podcast is affiliated with the station. Some episodes will air live on air, other will be recorded for podcast only. If you’re an Eagles fan, title of the pod is great too.

    Apple Podcasts Rating: 4.4 / 5

    Host rapport

    • James and ESP both work for the same station, know each other well, and have a great rapport on the show and with frequent callers (for the live shows).
    • ESP is known for some outrages takes (saying he could “luck into a home run” if he took a MLB at bat) and isn’t afraid to poke fun at himself. James has no problem calling him out, but in the same way you would with your friend – no schtick here.
    • James and ESP have a good pulse check on what’s going on, so the show always feels current.

    Frequency of new episodes

Being affiliated with a radio station, the guys are more prolific about podcasting consistently and on schedule.

    • Postgame: Same day (it may take a day for them to get up as ESP is also a writer)
    • In-season and draft/free agency: Multiple episodes a week.
    • Training camp: Near daily-episodes day of post practice.
    • Offseason/dead zone: Multiple episodes a week.

    Podcast format

    • Audio Quality & Production: 10/10 – Having access to a radio station’s equipment with experienced producers ensure the show sounds fantastic and definitely pays dividends.
    • Structure: Again, with the radio background, the show moves at a great clip, never hangs or drags, and never feels like two randos in a basement with wandering thoughts. Great at teasing what’s coming up next.
